I will dominate 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to publicize next month's bout.
Ex two-time unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Attitude
"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will really want to hurt him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Opponent
Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Still, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, frequently receiving huge financial rewards.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and stated he would prevent the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.
"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.
Physical Difference
As both boxers met for the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the fight is really going ahead.
